We are proud to present Material Cinema, a departure point for the general advancement of positive uses of sound and image.
The first task is to present work from the archives of the now disbanded Monadic Institute. This international collective strove to counter destructive audio-visual use while creating and inventing dynamic approaches to cinema, video, and the emerging visual arts. They were actively experimenting and practicing during the last three decades of the 20th century. The short film The Staticose Chamber documents their invention of their revolutionary audio-visual therapy apparatus.
